COVID-19 Policies
Apurture One is made up of people who care and look out for one another.
We are looking out for you. It’s been a challenging couple of months, and we have all been impacted by Covid-19. In response to these challenges, we have made changes to improve the health and safety of everyone in our community to foster and grow a positive and productive working environment.
CURRENTLY PERMITTED SERVICES IN ONTARIO
Commercial photography, defined as photography or videography with the intent of promoting, marketing, selling an individual, brand, product, service, or otherwise. We are currently OPEN and renting our studio out to content creators, photographers, videographers, etc. who are shooting this kind of content!
Industrial photography, generally content related to production and B2B and B2C type photographs. We are open and renting our studio to clients for this purpose as well.
Film / TV, Broadcasting Productions, are all legally permitted and we are open and renting our studio out to clients who need studio time for these purposes as well.
CURRENTLY NOT PERMITTED SERVICES IN ONTARIO
The only type of photography service which is NOT permitted is RETAIL photography. Think of stuff like family portraits, baby or pet photography, etc. for the purpose of sale to a retail end consumer.
EXEMPTION: if you are shooting these kinds of photographs with a COMMERCIAL intent (i.e. photography or videography with the intent of promoting, marketing, selling an individual brand, product, service, or otherwise) then we are open and able to rent our space to you for your photoshoot.
Owing to the aforementioned guidelines, we are open for business by appointments; only offering services permitted by municipal, provincial and federal regulations.
All booking/appointments MUST be made by email. Stating the date, time and the type of production that will be taking place in our studio. We then respond with availability and pricing.
Anyone who is off camera is legally required by the government of Ottawa, Ontario, and Canada to wear a mask; unless legally exempt, all individuals must wear a mask while off camera, and all people should seek to preserve a distance of 6’ (2 metres) apart.
Apurture One will have hand sanitizer available on location and cleaning products at all workstations. However, masks are the renters and their clients responsibility.
We disinfect diligently and frequently, but as a result of this new lockdown are also requesting that you must bring your own disinfecting wipes to wipe down the space both before AND after your shoot to ensure the maximum possible safety.
Please note that if you live in different households, we have been advised that you should be arriving at our studio and departing from it in separate vehicles since in a vehicle you are more likely to contract the coronavirus COVID-19.
A maximum capacity of five (5) guests has been put in place to ensure safe physical distancing
For Hair & Makeup – only ONE model allowed at the makeup station at a time in order to keep proper social distancing and sanitation. NO FOOD AND DRINK allowed at the station and ESSENTIAL TOOLS ONLY.
To ensure proper sanitization in the studio between bookings, we will not be offering overtime. We encourage you to plan accordingly.
The studio’s point of contact will be the person who booked the space. Further contact tracing of everyone on set is the responsibility of the person who books the studio.
The client is required to gather a list of attendees with contact information. It will be needed if there is an outbreak resulting from the gathering.
The client is responsible and required to notify their guests about our COVID-19 protocols.
The COVID-19 screening form must be filled out by guests and all third-party vendors before the booking.
If you’ve travelled outside of Canada or had close contact with anyone that has travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, you must isolate and talk with a doctor/health care provider to get advice or an assessment, including if you need a COVID-19 test.
Apurture One will provide all necessary supplies – hand sanitizers, soaps, tissues and safety protocol signs. The masks are the client’s or the guests responsibility to bring their own masks.
Apurture One will post signs that will remind attendees to practice these measures in highly visible locations.
Apurture One will frequently sanitize high-touch surfaces. We disinfect before and right after every session as well.
You MUST return the studio to the same state it was given to you. If cleaning/reorganizing/adjusting/repainting is necessary to return the Space to its original state, you may be charged a $250 cleaning fee.
You must clean up all garbage, clean dishes you used and sweep the studio if there is any debris you left on the floor. Failure to do this, will result in our $250 cleaning fee charge.
We are continuously following best practices as set out by municipal, provincial and federal guidelines. We will also be updating our processes and procedures as new information becomes available.
